I don't know about you guys, but this is a topic near and dear to my heart. Okay... not really dear. I hate the fact of breast cancer with a seething passion. It's a disease, if not caught early, that can rob a woman of her identity as a woman, cause physical pain to the patients, emotional pain to the woman and her family, and just generally wreak havoc. Breast cancer affects men as well - as supporters of the women who have it and as patients themselves.
The Susan G. Korman Foundation has been raising money for a few decades now to help prevent and fight breast cancer. One of the ways the foundation does this is by sponsering fund raising events. Their big one is the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. It happens every year in cities around the US. This year, the Philadelphia Walk starts on October 5 and ends October 7.A friend of mine is walking and her husband is working on the safety crew. (Found out this weekend that they aren't actually doing it this year, due to lack of funds. Everything that's donated, this year, though, still goes to the foundation. She will be walking next year.) Please consider donating to the cause at Terri's donation page. Click here for the donation page.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled f-list.
