Last week I posted about a charity event in Austin tied to "Serenity" and the whole Whedon-verse, called Can't Stop the Serenity. haldira let me know today that they have a number of programs and goodie bags left over that the event coordinators are planning on selling. For each program and goodie bag you buy, you receive 5 raffle tickets for the raffle. The prizes for the raffle include pictures signed by the BDHs (Big Damn Heroes) and a blow up of the cover for the Season 8 #1 issue signed by Joss Whedon and Jo Chen. The goodie bags have Serenity/Firefly swag like bookmarks, stickers, cards, sudokus, magnets, maybe a comic or two. Some of the goodie bags have Buffy/Angel comics in them. Other things up for grabs: posters, t-shirts, a book ("Finding Serenity"), or magnets.

Programs and goodie bags can be purchased by sending an e-mail to beth@cantstoptheserenity.com. Be sure to put "Raffle Ticket" in the subject line.

As mentioned in the previous post, all proceeds go to Equality Now, a charity devoted to ending violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world through the mobilization of public pressure (from the website).

And if any kind soul out there has the extra cash just laying around (shhhhhh... I can hear your laughter from here), I'd LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to have Dinner with Joss. It's for a good cause! My fangirly delight Equality Now!
