In 5 days, the mad rush of the holiday season will be officially over. I don't know about you guys, but this season seems less festive to me for some reason. Instead it feels rushed. This whole year has felt that way - frantic and frenetic. Rush to get things done. Don't forget to mow the lawn, shovel the snow, fix the drain, clean the house, cook dinner, make lunch, eat breakfast, go to the gym, turn in that report, fix this report, take the pets to the vet, to the kennel, to the vet again, go to an event, plan a party, plan another party, go to a party, order dinner, order presents for the niece and nephews, travel here, go to a wedding, go to another wedding, celebrate the lives of people who have past, rush, rush, rush, cram it all in and be damned the consequences to yourself, to your family, to your relationships. And yet at the end of it all, it's been a good year and the damage you think you've done has actually been either minimal or all in your head. Thank the good gods for that!
So today before everyone rushes off to their respective holiday gatherings, I want to wish you all a Happy Christmas, Channakuh, Kwanza, Solstice, Festivus Day, Thursday... whatever it is you celebrate. Christmas cards have gone out, but I ran out of cards before I ran out of list and you know what? That's a good thing.
Merry Christmas, my friends. Enjoy the season. Enjoy each other. And I'll see you all in the New Year, if not sooner.
