Last night was fun. I met up with my friend J at The Tangled Web. J is a brand spankin' new knitter. She's started a scarf and has the basics down, so she feels that she's ready for socks. We got her appropriate sock yarn, needles (DPNs in 2 sizes), and Nancy Bush's Folk Socks. We talked a little bit about gauge and how important it is. She peeked in the book and started getting intimidated by the terminology - ssk, yo, psso, decreases, increases... She wanted to know about slip stiches... what is it? How do you do that? Luckily, I had a sock in my purse that I am working on (what?) and whipped it out. I showed her the slip stitch. The response was, "Oh..." She'll be asking a ton of questions at the SnB on Sunday (which is as it should be). *grin*
( Cut for rambling stuff about dinner, family and flowers )
( SIP (that would be Sock in Progress) pictures under the cut )
I really need to get my camera fixed. This bringing projects in to work to take pictures is just not convenient... LOL
